If you keep them in the fridge it keeps them cool. You may even find that some of the little blighters start wearing shades and tiny leather jackets.

you keep them in the fridge so they last longer but when you then take them out and take them fishing with you they soon get back up to the body temperature this means they will go back to been active and lively and this will make them more apeeling to the fish

Yes, it will slow them down and prevent them turning into casters. At this time of year, though, I find it less problematic with the "domestic authorities" to tip them into a bucket and keep them in the garden shed.
Don't put them in your mouth if they are coloured. Some of that dye has been found to be carcinogenic. They're quite tasty if you have dyed them yourself with turmeric, though.

hubby keeps them in a fridge, they last longer so i dont think it does any harm. make sure you have a seperate fridge for them, if not, make sure the lid is on properly. You don't want maggots eating your butter!

It preserves them. Delaying the time it takes for them to turn into caster, then fly's.
You should warm them up before putting them on the hook. Try putting them in your mouth under your tongue for a few seconds. Gets them wriggling.
