The largest group of radio telescopes in the U.S. is the VLA (Very Large Array) near Socorro, New Mexico. When they are combined together it is like having a radio telescope 22 miles in diameter!

Radio telescopes can be grouped together in a line to inhance what they see. Optical telescopes cannot do this. The largest radio telescope is in Porto rico and fills an entire valley

The most famous Radio Telescope would undoubtedly be the 'scope in Arecibo, Peurto Rico. It has been used as a backdrop for countless movies, television shows, and books.

Aricibo has the largest. Nothing significant has been found as yet. We're looking for radio signals that may not exist.
