In 1835 Tocqueville wrote, “the American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.” Sadly, that day has long since come. - Helen E. Krieble http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=19812

Is the republic lost, has the public succumbed to bribery by congress? As long as congress can legally take our money and give it to others we are in a state of decline and revolution is upon us.

The only control we have today on congress is the vote which has proven to be for sale, just look at how many times the crook dollar bill jefferson has been re-elected. We must gain control of our country again and the ONLY way to do this is to remove from congress career politicians who will destroy our country. We must have term limits now.

You are so right!

I wish that:
(1) we could eliminate career politicians. Not only are they subject to being corrupted by the system, but they also lose sight of what we are dealing with in the real world, and

(2) we could eliminate hate and attack politics. There are a lot of good, decent people who will never run for political office because they are not willing to subject their families to the incredible amount of false attacks that most of our candidates must undergo to be elected.

Absolutely. People have discovered that they can vote themselves benefits paid for by others through the public treasury. Many politicians are happy to oblige.

I believe the republic is blind, numb, and desensitized.
