Okay in the USA we no almost nothing about the sport of handball (Okay Americans call it Team Handball) because not many people play the sport and we're really bad. The modern game of handball was first played to the end of the 19th century in Denmark, Germany, and Sweden.

Indoor version is a fast paced game involving two teams 7 players who pass, throw, catch, and dribble a ball with their hands trying to score. Two 30 minute half's- Team with the most points score.

I listen allot to international news such English service of Radio DW. They reported for the 2007 International Handball championship that a sold out crowd of around 19,000 spectators watched Germany beat Poland. The sport has grown throughout Europe into North Africa and South Korea.Handball also went into other parts of the world, but I gave you the main areas. Every year since 1972 (1936 field handball) indoor handball has been a contested team sport. The women were added in 1976.

Lastly Euro-Sports (ESPN for Europe) covers the EURO LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS- Players get paid a salary, money is generated from sponsorship and ad revenue. Maybe somebody can show you highlights from a handball match.

Here is the description of the sport some pics
