Certainly I would, after all, she's the Queen. I also curtsied to Prince Charles when I met him.

It's a mark of respect and a tradition.

It means showing respect...whether it is bowing at the waist like the Japanese, shaking hands, standing up, or curtsying, saying "sir/ma'am"...whatever the culture considers to be a show of respect...that's what you do. It doesn't even have to be to a queen. Civilized people show respect to people in authority...even if it is just their parents or a teacher...Unfortunately it is rapidly becoming a lost art.

If I encountered her in her country, I would. On my soil here in America, I would not, and she shouldn't expect it.

Although I try to respect the traditions of other countries, I find the idea of "royalty", and governing a country based by the family within you were born, to be a bizarre, undemocratic and very out-dated belief.
