I love all the books but i have to say that my fav is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because:

*I've read all the books twice, Goblet of Fire 3 times, but i've read this one at least 5 times

*I can really relate to it- everything is new to Harry. He didn't know he was a wizard, he felt that his purpose in life was to be Dudley's punching bag! Then he discovered something new that changed his life forever.

*In my opinion, JK Rowling gives the most Vived descriptions in this one because she had to explain everything because it was so new

And those are my reasons for liking it

I like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
It's my favorite Harry Potter book, because we finally see the big picture. Voldemort's past is revealed, we get a much closer look at Snape and all of a sudden(with the attack at Hogwards) we realise just how serious and how important it is for Harry to beat Voldemort. It creates the foundation of a (hopefully)smashing 7th book.

It was a good question and my original answer would have been: "no sooner can I choose a favorite star in heaven" , but after a bit of thought I decided on the Half Blood Prince.

I'd have to say Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Why? Because everything was so new. So many new ways of life, characters, traditions, etc were introduced. In addition, while it had a villian, hero and conflict, it had a certain innocence, and lacked the darkness of the later books.

CHAMBER OF SECRETS
my all time favorite HP book, and im a big fan.
I like it for some of the darker aspects it has,
it supposedly has the most "hidden meaning" or secrets to the rest of the series.
I also love it because harry isnt a newbie to the wizarding world anymore and starts to come out of his shell a little bit

Hmm I've always loved Prisoner of Azkaban but I love Order of the Pheonix because i think JK has grown as an author and Harry is growing up and well im kinda growing up too so you can relate to what is going on in their lives!! Their insecurities, mood swings and their love lives.

Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone.
Like previous answer - our introduction to that wonderful world - the age of innocence before it became so dark.
