This is tricky. IF your periods are very regular, you can calculate your safe days and abstain from sex during the unsafe days. This isn't a perfect system though, and you could still end up pregnant, even if you thought you were in a "safe" period. But if you stick with it, and it won't be a catastrophe for your family if you do end up pregnant, you might give it a try. The old joke is true: what do you call a woman using the rhythm method of birth control? Mommy!

Why doesn't your husband want you to take birth control? Have you considered something like the Mirena IUD, little to no side effects, good for 5 years, remove and back to instant fertility. One good side effect: light or no period! My sister has one and I am currently pregnant with my first and considering my bc options as well. We do not want another baby right away. I was on the pill for over 10 years, it worked well for me as far as no problems, easy to take, etc.

really simple - - - IUD they are now really safe and they are easy to have placed after having a baby - You'll have to wait the 6 weeks post birth ( i believe - check the length of time with your OBGYN)
AND UNTIL YOU HAVE IT IN - either NO SEX OR CONDOMS - EVERY TIME - or baby #3 will be on it's way in about 10 months.....

Good Luck to you all.... see links below to get more info on IUDs

Why doesnt he want you on birth control if you don't want more kids until later? You could use a condom if he doesn't want you on bc though.

If he doesn't want a child, birth control isn't an option, it's a must.

my husband and I used condoms when we weren't trying, they are 97% affective, but if you want extra protection you should really get on birth control.
