How long is 40 Weeks exacly?

I just confused myself, lol how long is 40 weeks, cuz i don't think it's nine months....or is it.....HELP PLEASE!! LOL

There are not really 4 weeks in one month. It's more like 4 1/2 weeks. So 40 weeks is 9 months give or take a week.

It is 280 days. If you use 30 days as the average per month (which is NOT the same as 4 weeks - which is where the 10 months comes from), it comes out to 9 1/3 months. well there are four weeks and either two or three days in most months, so approximately 13 weeks in three months. 13 weeks (3 months) multiplied by three is 39 weeks. so fourty weeks is just a little over 9 months.

I asked my midwife and she said you add on 9 months and 1 week from first day of last period to work out due date - kinda doesn't answer your Q but may be of interest!!

It is 10 months. 40 divided by 4 (approx weeks in a month) equals 10. I am currently 28 wks pregnant and let me tell you 40 weeks is more like a whole year! LOL!
