1. there is no benefit.
2. the usa does not want to create a war.
3. the usa cares about human freedom and dignity and it will protect both --in case of need and urgency --whether the country is called "Iran or North Korea or xyz". The period of dark ages is over --where governments "enslaved their own populations" and the rule of one autocratic ruler was equivalent to live or die.
Hope it helps.

The USA does not want a war with Iran. You seem to have been listening to Aljazeera too much.

What the USA and many other countries want is for Iran to open it's nuclear program to the outside world and prove that they are not making nuclear weapons. With the current leadership in Iran the rest of the world considers Iran too much of a risk to world peace to allow Iran to have a nuclear bomb.

"Our strategic and security interests throughout the world will be best safeguarded by the establishment in suitable spots of 'Police Stations', fully equipped to deal with emergencies within a large radius. Kuwait is one such spot from which Iraq, South Persia, Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf could be controlled. It will be worthwhile to go to considerable trouble and expense to establish and man a 'Police Station' there."
- British Foreign Office, policy memo.

"I came to America because of the great, great freedom which I heard existed in this country. I made a mistake in selecting America as a land of freedom, a mistake I cannot repair in the balance of my lifetime."

Overall there would be no benefit because the U.S cannot afford (money and soldiers) to go to war with Iran, it would be a truly dumb move. Unless Iran really threatens the U.S. I cannot see why there would even be a war with them.
