Sometimes it's too loud or not loud enough. I've started limiting it and listen on low but wondered what else could effect how loud it seems to me

Check someone elses cd player or have a friend check you with your back turned to them. Have them speak in a whisper, a normal tone and a shout. If you do not hear them when they whisper, See your doctor for an audiometric assessment. If you can hear the whisper, maybe your cd player is malfunctioning or has a speaker blown. You should be able to figure out your situation from there. Good luck

it is quite easy to damage our hearing. I would urge you to have your present level of hearing assessed and keep track of it over the years, once damaged the organs of sound continue to degrade.
