If you bounce on a trampleen say a dozen times then climb off and try to jump both feet off the ground at the same time you`ll find you can`t jump why ?

Probably your mind has difficulty dealing with the relative comparison? Kind of like when you are swimming with fins, and then remove them. You feel like you can't propel yourself at all.

An observer will probably note that your jump from the ground was the same as the one you made after using the trampoline. While you, the jumper, feel the jump was inadequate as it wasn't as high as you just attained with assistance.

Maybe because it is relatively more difficult to jump because you no longer have the trampoline helping you so you need to adjust.
