I bought a car adapter for my laptop that is rated at 75 watts, I read that most laptops require 65 watts, but I can not find that information on my laptop any where. Do I need a bigger one?

Usually, it will say on the adapter itself.

If it doesn't, you can use a simple electronics law called "Ohm's law" to figure it out.

Here is an online calculator for it: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Bill_Bowden/ohmslaw.htm

Just enter the output voltage and amperage listed on the adapter into the matching fields, and it will give you the wattage.

look at your your current power supply
you should see the the wattage rating on it
If it is 65 watts your fine. a 75 watt power supply will not hurt it.
