no. from the situation you described, it sounds like your friend has some anger issues. you definitely did the right thing by walking away. if he isnt willing to come to you and apologize for the way he acted, i wouldnt consider him a friend for too much longer. most people when they overreact to something are able to recognize it, calm down, and apologize to the person/people they hurt. if he cant, its either b/c he doesnt care about you enough as a friend to put away his pride and do the right thing, or he cant seem to recognize his anger issues, which is a bigger problem.

If you don't want to be his friend anymore, then you don't have to. You could always talk to him (if you think he will be rational) and see what's wrong, and remind him that he was the one who pushed first.
