Does it belong there? Did you plant it? Recognize that anything, I mean anything, that does not belong in your vision or view of a garden is nothing more than a weed!!! A fully healthy plant (Azalea, Hostas, etc.) are a weed in your garden if you do not want or like them.
If you do not wish this plant to be there than by all means both spray the invader with a total vegetation killer today and spray again in three days. Allow at least a week for the chemical to work into the roots. Remove it promptly after three weeks.
By the time it grows to you being able to recognize it may be to late to eradicate or prune it. Put what you want in the front of your home, get rid of the rest. It is your home afterall.
