i have a former teacher that i was very close to, and for the past few months have been visiting her. i would buy her chritstmas presents that weren't that expensive, like cd's and coffee, and would hug her everytime i said goodbye. but recently, she told me it was making her uncomfortable and she wanted to end our relationship and asked me to leave. what made her feel so uncomfortable? what did i do to push the boundaries? (we are both females) why was this so sudden?

You have a choice and she has a choice. Your willingness to violate her choice is scary. Stop trying to figure out what she feels when she has told you here wishes. Listen to her and leave her alone. If she misses that friendship and wants to resume it, she knows how to contact you right?
Leave her alone as she wishe you to do.
