What do you mean "you are white so you don't know how to act?" That is ridiculous! You know, regardless of race, that what happened was quite a terrible thing. You should react by explaining to your friend that you are sorry about racism, and that she should remain strong and determined to thrive in spite of it. And don't pretend you haven't a clue in the world because of your skin's hue! That is stupid! You know that comment was meant to be hurtful. Be a good friend and do the right thing. You'll feel better in the end if you do.

Yes, it is racist, but what we must know is we have no control of what other people say or think, because you are white, don't feel like you are a part of someone else's ignorance, me as a black person, do not hold you accountable for something someone else did or said, first and foremost the child is only saying what they were taught and it is not a reflection of you, or what you were taught. Your friend knows that you are a true friend, regardless of a racist statement by a white person.

Well, the child that said that, I wouldn't consider racist, but Apparently his parent is and that's ashamed if you ask me. As far as how you should react to something like that...I guess I would have to be in that situation to to know for sure, but in your case, since her mom was there I would probably let her handle it and just be there for your friend. Hope that helps you some.

I think that there are always going to be ignorant people who don't take the time to get to know someone before they judge them. I don't thik you should feel bad for their decessions. Try to comfort your fried the best you can without feeling bad for being who you are. Be careful not to start feeling bad about your skin color. There are to many people who are turning prejeduce against the white race because a few of them are prejeduice.

Yes, that was racist. You should explain to your friend that some people just are raised that way and there is nothing you can do to change that, Assure her that some people though they maybe like that aren't bad it just isn't their fault for the way they were raised, Also assure that not all people are like that and to always look for the good in people, regardless of their remakes.

It is awful what that horrid mother said! It is racist because it treats one race better than the other. However, she might not know any better because maybe her mother told her the very same thing that she told her son.

yeah, that is racist. It is ashamed that parents teach there children not like somebody because of there skin color. You should just be there and comfort her, because skin color is means nothing. It is about the person's character and demeanor. Take care, and wish you and her the best.

Tell her not to worry about it. Little kids only know what they are taught, so if she were to be upset, be upset at his mother. Don't waste tears on the ignorance of others. She is better than that and has to be stronger than that.
