Blueberries bushes reach maturity at about eight years old
Regular applications of compost, manure, and other organic matter yearly is needed to help keep them. I would work around the soil and losen up that clay with some sand. blueberries need organic soil and with compost and a sandy acidic soil with a PH no greater than 5.5. if the acidic ph is not right the plants will not have blueberries.
You can increase the acidity with applications of sulfur or acid peat. Soil acidity increases very slowly, so test the soil one year before planting and adjust pH and nutrient levels then if necessary. At the same time, incorporate organic matter particularly if the soil is very light and sandy

these three sites have many good suggestions about the ph of the soil, watering, fertirlizing, and drainage.
