It depends on several factors: your age, your weight, your general health and whether or not you smoke.
If you are not comfortable take to your doctor and ask for something else. You can't be shy about your health. Talk to the doctor.

All birth control pills can have bad side effects. The FDA even cautions that birth control use should be consistently monitored. No medication taken over long periods of time is good for your body. If you want to do more research, you might try the FDA web site, and then make your decision.
There are natural methods of birth control that are as effective as the pill (but just like the pill you have to use them properly for them to be effective). You can learn more about that from your local Couple to Couple League. I think the last issue of Natural Health also ran an article on natural birth control methods. You might write them for a copy or see if there are copies online.

You need to talk to your doctor if you have concerns.
Most of the time different birth controls can have different affects on other people. for example my friends like yasmin... after awhile i had to stop that.
try it for awhile and see if you experience any of the side effects, if you do... see your doctor... they can prescribe you a new one over the phone more than likely... i was able to change mine over the phone.

Research others and tell your doctor which you want. Don't take anything that makes you uncomfortable.

It is not a good idea to take any medication you don't feel comfortable about.

yes, take it. BCP's can effect different people differently. If you doc gave it to you, you must not have any contraindications for it.
