I would try to control you by giving you my trust (as long as you deserved it, that is) because once you have my trust you will feel better about things and want to share more with me and we will become closer. That doesn't sound like "control" but at least I would feel more in control. That way we both benefit. I don't control you - but I'm in control because you share your life with me since I have such great trust for you. No hopefully you wouldn't do anything to destory that trust. :)

If you think your parents are trying to control you, then they really are controlling you. Thats the facts of the matter!!
But to the real question... If you were my daughter, I would have started when you were just a baby.

If you're 28, then your real parents shouldn't even have control over you. They lost that right when you turned 18.

at 28, I wouldn't try to control you...if you were still living with me, I would have some rules prolly, but you're an ADULT for goodness sake!
however, when you were a child, the rules would be mine, and you would follow them or face consequences...(you don't want to get on my bad side *evil grin*)
