I was just wondering,
A) What is the actual definition of a dimension,
B) How many dimensions are there,
and C) What are the dimensions?

A 'dimension' is a measurement tht it linearly independent of all other measurements. (That is to say, it cannot be infered from the others). For example, people may be 'measured' by height weight, age, hair color, and eye color. That makes people (in this system) be 5-dimensional since if you know the values of four measurements for one person, it really tells you nothing about the value of the 5'th measurement.

Current theories have length, width, depth, mass, time, charge, spin, color, flavor, strangeness, and charm as fundamental dimensions. But everyone agrees that there may well be more. Quite a few people (including myself) even suspect there may be an infinite number of them.

length, depth, height, and time are the four demensions. Space is defined by these demensions. Quantum mechanics suggests that there may be more, but they have not been defined.
