how do you let go of someone you love? please help!?

I devoted everything to this girl, and i tried to make her happy in anyway i could. it lasted over two years, but now she has decided that she wants to move on. it wasnt a story book relationship ( are there really any?) but i imagined the rest of my life with her. she says that she doesnt want to make it work anymore. i know it could work if she put effort into it, but she doesnt want to and i cant make her. i hear everybody's suggestion and understand them, but its so hard to move on. it really hurts. how is it that we could love someone so much and try to do nothing but the best for them and not get the same in return?

you cant make her love you and you shouldnt have to make her love you
if she doesnt love you then shes just not seeing what a great guy you really are
i have the same problem right now but with my ex boyfriend and i just tell myself everytime i think about crying that hes the one thats missing out and maybe i will find someone else that will treat me even better then he did even though he did at times
you just have to give it time and maybe shell notice what she lost and come bak to you

I lost 2 pant sizes in 2 months, because I could not eat. I almost lost my job because I could not focus on anything. I was a mess. I still to this day have never been through so much pain, but it has been 5 years and the pain is gone. It really is. You have to go through it though. No matter what you do, time is your only true healer. Now the pain has been replaced by fond memories. And also a little bit of strength knowing i survived what I thought to be the end of my world.
I am sorry you are going through this...I really am.
