THE BLOND GIRL IS A OUTSIDER TO THE FAMILY. THE MOTHER DOESN'T REALLY KNOW HER. IT COULD ALSO BE THAT SHE WAS WITH SHAWN WHEN HE GOT HURT AND THE SHE DOESN'T HAVE A SCRATCH ON HER.

The mother does not approve of her son dating that blond woman. Didn't you see the first episode? That's why the son is in the hospital to begin with!
