Shah Rukh Khan was always the most obvious alternative. And I've said that for a long time. I think it's great choice, though only as an alternative to Amitabh Bachchan.
Amitabh has been ambivalent about doing KBC again. One part of him says he's done enough of KBC. But I kept urging him to do it. He achieved a certain effect that the show required. By the second innings he was really enjoying himself. I feel he was much more relaxed with the crew, etc the second time. But after his sudden illness whenever I met him I kept asking him to do it again.
I've heard he had other commitments. I'm also told that as far back as July he had written to STAR and told them he doesn't want to do it. Once they got a fix on Shah Rukh, STAR went ahead with it.
Q: So why Shah Rukh?
A: Because he is smart and young people's person. He is charming and cheeky. He's very willing to prepare hard. Shah Rukh has none of the anxieties that most actors have about anchoring. The tone, tenor and texture will change with Shah Rukh.

Shahrukh keeps copying amitabh, so we see lots of similarities in them, for eg shahrukh becomes a actor after getting inspired by amitabh, then he becomes famous and gets known as king khan after amitabh getting the tag of 'big b', and also shahrukh becomes a presenter of kbc3 after kbc1 and 2!

They are very much alike, but Amitabh has a famous Bollywood actor son, Abhishek - that is the only thing that is not similar.

Both r well known actors but I don't agree with ur statement that there is any similarity between them becoz every human being has its own indivisualty.
So in my opinion they r different.

One does a work in a movie or host in an actors former show doesn't mean that they have anything similar....
Amitab is good n srk is great....
No actor can even dare to re-make amitab's movie... srk did!
Ask amitab to do DDLJ..... He will run into the toilet!

They are different in all ways except being male 'bollywood' actors. Otherwise, there would not such followings, for both.
