Pay for it first then tell people that you stole it. This way you will know you're not stupid but all of those you tell will. If you decide to steal it then my sincerest wish is that you get caught and prosecuted...over a hat.

You can't. You have to always remember that what you give out, comes back, ten-fold. So go ahead and steal that hat, but expect to lose something at least ten times what that hat is worth somewhere down the line.
It's a universal law and you cannot avoid it, and not only can you expect to lose a great deal, you can expect others to try to figure out ways to rip you off as well.
I suggest you get a grip.

back up, you say you want to steal a hat? you can not be serious peer preasure these days are worse than i ever thought and im in the middle of it, kids of the world are under the influence i'd do whats sensible and not do it, if you must then pay for it then tell people you stole it but come on you would just get yourself deeper into ia never ending web of LIES!!!
