I have changed the wastegate control valve but to no avail, but the car only seems to go into limp mode when given full load such as climbing a hill on the motorway. Any suggestions would be really appreciated as it seems to be beating me!

Could be a restriction on the small boost control pipe.Or one of the small control valves that control emissions not opening fully,if the management warning is coming on i suspect that could be the problem.Start taking the small pipes off 1 by 1 and road test.Be sure to mark them.If you get them mixed up its murder to get back correctly.

Hi

The vehicle is overboosting and the ECU is taking control and restricting the performance to prevent engine damage, which is why it only limps under load.

Check the operation of the wastegate itself and check the condition of the boost pipes to start with.

Cheers

may i ask if this is the xud type engine 8 valve? the later multi valve engines can suffer from totally blocked induction due to emission under certain driving conditions i:e as a taxicab ticking over on the rank for 20 to 30 minutes at a time and give bewildering results. to all involved.

sounds like an air leak in one of the boost pipes to/from intercooler/turbo Think the intercooler may be in the wing on yours but you deffo need to rev it and check underneath if there is an air leak
