Hey, guys! I'm thinking about buying a laptop for university. I'm gonna major in engineering, possibly mechatronics at Waterloo or engineering science at UT. And I am really confused, having no idea which brand I can trust. Please give me any advise you have! Personal experience very much welcomed! Thank you all in advance.

HP (Including Compaq) and Dell are the best sellers! Cruise their sites for more information! If you plan to use the same laptop for at least 2 to 4 years--get the longest warranty you can afford! DELL has up to a 4 year, including coverage for dropping it and other common college incidents (even if it WAS your fault!)

Maybe talk to some people at the college and let them direct you in the right direction. The associates at the stores will be able to help you too. I prefer Comaq & HP. The more memory the better!
