I took two home pregnancy tests and the result was negative. But my period is two weeks late and its never been late before. Should I take a blood test?

The digital-read tests sometimes give a false result but the regular read kinds are usually pretty accurate but sometimes for people it takes a couple weeks longer for the pregnancy hormone to be detected I think a blood test is the best way to go about it! Have you been stressed or changed your diet? Those also can trigger a late period Good Luck!

Home pregnancy tests are not always accurate. I love the site peeonastick.com because they have reviews of home pregnancy tests. I think that you should go in to your OB, have a blood test taken, and see what the results are. If you are not pregnant, talk to your doctor about what might be delaying your period. Just because you're never late doesn't mean your period can't be late sometimes. No woman has an internal clock that ticks completely true all the time.

Only 95% of negatives are accurate (tests taken too ealry that show up negative although the woman is pregnant are counted as accurate, since the instructions say they won't work till the missed period). You could be in that 5%. I'd get the blood test.

They are accurate. Take a blood test to know for sure. A lot of things can cause your period to be late like stress.

Get a blood test to put your mind at ease and if your not pregnant find out why your period is late

You should go to the doctor anyhow to see why you haven't had a period. Yes you could be pregnant even though it is not showing up on a test. Good luck

home pregnancy tests are acurate usually. I would wait a week if your period doesnt come, take one more HPT, and then go to your OB/Gyn for a blood test

No they're not. I took one once as a lark, showed positive which was kind of funny since I had had a hysterectomy 6 monhts prior...no tubes, no ovaries, no cervix and NO uterus...
