Do you think the passage of the Volstead Act and the verdict of the Scopes trial represent genuine triumphs for traditional values?

So if we answer yes, does that mean when the Volstead Act was repealed, and the Scopes trial verdict was overturned that it was a victory for non-traditional values.

I think what you'll find is that these were bad decisions made for the right reasons, and once it was seen that they were bad decisions, they were reversed.

They both prove that you can't legislate morality.

This should be the lesson to both the extremes in political thought today also. A few minuets of thought before you propose a law might save million of dollars defending an undefendable law and harm the people you wanted to save at the same time.
