About 1.5 ago I decided to start my own business...at that time Iwas doing business in Nj and since I have decided to move to another state. I visited the NJ web site that explains how to dissolve a business but It focused primarily with corps...Do I have to officially dissolve a sole prop.? Please If anyone knows something about this....Help me....I dont want any problems with anyone...BTW....the business was never made a profit....or a sale.....I was just in the start up phase....here's the link http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/revenue/dissolve.htm

Have you filed a tax return for the business? If no, you should notify the IRS and state tax commission that you're out of business.

Are you paying local business licenses? If so, notify the local government that you're out of business.

If none of the above, don't do anything.
