are they really the ones you can never forget?
and if you find love again, and really truly believe you are inlove, is there still a part of them that stays with you, like a fond memory or just the fact they were the first person to ever claim your heart!!

I do not miss my first love. I thought it was love, but now I realize it wasn't really. He was incredibly a jackass who used me and I was practically brain-washed.

I still miss him. I don't really miss him, I miss the things about him that I loved. If u ended things w/ him on good terms, then u will still have feelings 4 him, but u really like the idea of him more than himself. When u find a new love, there will probably b a lot of things about the new guy that will remind u of ur 1st love. Don't try to stop loving him- u can't. U need 2 try and get over him, and accept that u can't b together. Kno that it's best 4 the 2 of u 2 go ur separate ways, and if u can't accept that, then maybe ur not ready 4 a new relationship.

Yes, and I had a hard time forgetting him. I broke up with him to move to CA, I married someone else but couldn't forget him. 20 years later I wrote to him, and when he replied, he made a pass and stated he had to wait until his wife left the room to write. His dad was a womanizer, and after reading what he said, and how he remembered me, I was able to get over my feelings for him because I realized that had I married him, he would have been doing this behind my back. Sometimes memories vs. reality can be two very different things, and you tend to forget why you left the person in the first place. Good question, I thought I was the only person who did this.

For many many years I missed him. I was very young and naive. It was not until my late 20's when I actually, truly, fell in love for the first time. I miss him sometimes, the way we were when we were our happiest. But we moved on. It has been 5 years and we talk now and again and share fond memories. It's just not the same. It just tells me time does heal broken hearts. I had never been through so much pain and now its a distant memory.

Yes I think you do miss you're first love I know even though I have had two since my first love you do miss them sometimes and think about little things but believe me it does get easier but their will always be a little place in your heart for them not in a loving way just remembering what you had together, don't worry it's perfectly normal to feel this way.

I miss her to this day. ( and I haven't seen her since 1971)
I think she was the only person who ever really listened and understood me.
