What if the atomic bomb and other nuclear weapons were eliminated? What would the world be like? What would be happening?

We would still be developing biological weapons. Also, without nuclear weapons, there would have been all out war between the USA and the USSR, or at least between Western Europe and the USSR.
I'm not saying that I like the existence of nuclear weapons - just that even with evil things, some good can be found.

without nuclear weapons, the world may well have finished WW3, with NATO losing it to the USSR.

also, it's impossible to get rid of nuclear weapons...terrorists don't follow rules

Some scientist working for the fall of man would develope something else. I think we would revert back to the old wild west and shoot it out in the streets.
