The US exports about 2 million barrels of oil a day much of this is the form form of heavy California crude for industrial lubricants. More importantly we export refined oil products such as specialized solvents and plastic substrates.

Until recently a substantial amount of Alaskan North Slope crude went to Japan and Korea. Because of rising global oil prices Congress has largely stopped this trade. Price pressure from cheaper Russian and Malaysian producers have also had an impact on slowing US sweet crude exports.

As a global ranking among exporters of crude this number is highly insignificant

Last I checked the USA does not export hardly any oil outside of the country. We don't even produce most of the oil we consume on a yearly basis. Since the mid 1980's the US domestic oil production rates have declined while our import totals have risen. I'm not an alarmist, so draw your own conclusion as to why this is.

Thats one fo the products we don't export. We import oil cause we dont prodduce enough of it to meet demand. Thats why we remain on friendly terms witht Arabic countries that we get our oil from.
