My left knee on the right side is KILLING me!! i just got over
tendonitis and i'm wondering if i should wear a brace again.
i am in taekwondo and i have practice tomorrow night and im going no matter what i just didnt know if a brace would relieve this pain. it hurts when i walk and jumping but how bad it hurts varies. Right now its in an ACE bandage but its not helping. oh and my brace for tendonitis was just like a strap for below the knee so should i get a full knee brace for all my knee?
thank you! =]]]

You might want to continue to wear your brace for tendonitis, because the pain could be from there. However you might of injured another part of your knee or bruised the bone. I'd suggest resting on the couch with you knee up...ice it for 20 minutes then switch and heat it for 20 minutes. Try and do that 2-3 times a day. Ibprofine for pain, and if it continues make an appointment with your dr.

Your best bet for getting past this is to see a physical therapist, preferably one who is a board-certified specialist in sports physical therapy (SCS after their name).

They will be able to evaluate the forces acting on your knee, and figure out how to relieve the abnormal stresses that are causing all of this pain. In the short-run, they ought to also be able to do some work to reduce your immediate pain, and to adivse you on whether the taekwondo is a good idea for you right now.

Go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT", and search your home area.

Good luck!

Please check with your dr. first. And please see if it is best for you to go to your class tomorrow night. It might need more time to heal. Take care.
