I dunno what's with the Dwayne Wade spam, but whatever.

Calvin Johnson is the best player in the draft, there's no question about. He has the potential to be a future number one WR like Steve Smith or Marvin Harrison (although Peyton doesn't go to him as much anymore). But we know Al Davis well. He's the heart of the Raiders and he's going to make sure that the offense is a vertical game. To do that, you need a QB who can gun the ball deep. We've seen guys wearing the black and silver who are all gun slingers (ex. Rich Gannon). Even last summer, he signed Aaron Brooks who has the arm strength to lob it and convinced former coach, Art Shell to sign Jeff George out of retirement? Why? Because he can CHUCK THE BALL!

So Davis sees Russell and he is perfect. Great size that can take hits unlike Brady Quinn (who has already taken almost as many hits in college as David Carr-bust?). He's got great feet for both running and for footwork. Then there's the arm. 90 yards standing, 60 yards on his knees, and 45 yards on his butt. Now Davis won't have to worry about the offense not moving because with one flick of the wrist, that ball can go sailing into the opposite endzone.

Unless Randy Moss gets traded, I think Russell's the guy. Sorry, Calvin.

JaMarcus Russell, QB from LSU. He is the best QB in the draft this year. He is big, strong, and agile. He has the ability to gun the ball down field with incredible acuacy. He is exactally what Oakland needs. They have no QB talent whatsoever.

My pick-JaMarcus Russel out of LSU. He's got a cannon for an arm, and he can come up big in big games, as witnessed in the Sugar Bowl vs. Notre Dame.
Mel Kiper Jr.'s pick-Calvin Johnson out of G-Tech, for a reason unbeknowest to me.
