1) The Catholic Church is not a corporation. Microsoft, however, is a C-Corporation by the laws of the state of Delaware.
2) Microsoft's revenues before EBITDA last year were $44.2 Billion. The Vatican's revenues in 2003 were $252 Million. That's nearly a 200-fold difference (Microsoft makes more, if you can't tell).
3) Microsoft's software runs something like 80% of the machines on the planet. The Vatican, however, has yet to issue an operating software package.
4) The Microsoft Foundation has been giving money to humanitarian relief and cultural endowments since its inception in the 1990s. The Catholic Church has been giving spiritual assistance and humanitarian relief since the 90's....the 0090's.
5) The Microsoft Foundation employs tens of thousands of bright minds. The Catholic Church ministers to 1.2 billion minds and souls, from the most simple to brilliant PhD.
Run-down:
*Money: Microsoft
* Possessions: Catholic Church (only because you can't put a pricetag on most of the assets; churches, buildings, works of art, etc.)
* Power: Catholic Church. When you're starving in Southeast Asia, who is more likely to show up: Bill Gates or a Catholic Charities worker?

The Church has been losing it's hold for over the last 600 years of it's existence. In the case of Microsoft, remember that It doesn't have nearly the free money that the Church gets in the tithe every Sunday. Consider this:
1. Microsoft does not own and control it's own country.
2. The Catholic Church has had over 120 molestation lawsuits. 45 of which are still pending.
3. Microsoft has the most common Computer OS in the world.
4. The Church owns or has ownership interest in over 16 countries and major companies in the world including, but not limited to Microsoft, Boeing, Exxon Mobil and IC Hotels Group.
P.S. I had to mention all this in response to the saucy (smart-aleck) comment of Mr. Frank Castle (above)

The Catholic Church is more powerful.
Money, possessions, "power", these are all earthly material things.
The Catholic Church, not a corporation, is of God and God is a power that transcends all earthly symbols of power like money and possessions.
You see, mankind created Microsoft, but it was God who created mankind. With that in mind, it's clearly obvious which has more power.

The Catholic Church is more powerful in the stuff that really matters.
The Church is the assembly of the People that God has called together from the ends of the earth.
She:
+ Is rich in faith, hope, and love.
+ Leads people to God
+ Helps people gain their salvation
In Catholic usage, the word "Church" has three inseparable meanings:
+ The People that God gathers in the whole world
+ The local church (diocese)
+ The liturgical (above all Eucharistic) assembly
The Church draws her life from the Word and the Body of Christ, and so herself becomes Christ's Body.
In the Nicene Creed (from 325 A.D.), the Church is professed to be one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.
+ The Church is one +
She acknowledges one Lord, confesses one faith, is born of one Baptism, forms only one Body, is given life by the one Spirit, for the sake of one hope (cf. Eph 4:3-5), at whose fulfillment all divisions will be overcome.
+ The Church is holy +
The Most Holy God is her author; Christ, her bridegroom, gave himself up to make her holy; the Spirit of holiness gives her life. Since she still includes sinners, she is "the sinless one made up of sinners." Her holiness shines in the saints; in Mary she is already all-holy.
+ The Church is catholic +
She proclaims the fullness of the faith. She bears in herself and administers the totality of the means of salvation. She is sent out to all peoples. She speaks to all men. She encompasses all times. She is "missionary of her very nature"
+ The Church is apostolic +
She is built on a lasting foundation: "the twelve apostles of the Lamb" (Rev 21:14). She is indestructible (cf. Mt 16:18). She is upheld infallibly in the truth: Christ governs her through Peter and the other apostles, who are present in their successors, the Pope and the college of bishops.
The mission of the Church is to proclaim and establish the Kingdom of God begun by Jesus Christ among all peoples.
With love in Christ.
