Well originally when Rasmus Lerdorf began a personal project he was attempting to spiff up his home page so he called it Personal Home Page thus PHP.
It has evolved greatly since his original idea and is now called
PHP Hypertext Preprossessor. I am not sure why all the web forgets to mention his original project and maybe all of this is just myth. Anyway that is what I remember from 1995. Yep I been at it a LONG time.. should find something else to do.

The P coulda been anything, like GNU stands for GNU's Not Unix.
