If I have to add a printer to a users machine on the network, how do I find out the IP address of the printer?

The majority network are on statics IP address. It doesn't matter what IP address because they are the same. If it Comcast or T1 then it must be a dynamic IP address.

The thing that YOU are looking for is the network domains like /Officeshared/machine name/printers.

You can simply do that by going to Control Panel and Printers. Click on Add Printer and then go to the second option that say Add Network printer. Then go to Browse for Network Printer, then go to the particular machine name of the computer connected to a printer.

If you don't know the particular name, you can go straight to the computer and look it up via Network Places. You should find the network name of the machine.

Print out the network information page from the printer.
