You only get free installation once with Sky, so if you aren't going to be in your new house for long, stick with NTL/Virgin. I'm only in a temporary house at the moment, so I'm sticking with Virgin as I don't want to have to fork out £100 for installation when I move again in 6 months.

Have you taken in to account that you need to have a BT line for Sky's services? Also, I believe Sky has stricter limits on the broadband - if you are heavy downloaders or gamers online, you may want to look in to this in more detail.

You will need to pay BT for the phone line to work with Sky phone, that will cost another £11 per month, so it will be dearer than the £30 for phone basic TV channels, and broadband from Virgin.
Sky has more TV channels available, it has a lot to those who pay no subscription, but not all of them are good. But for the quoted £26 you won't get all the good channels.
Weather effects Sky TV more than it does either freeview box, or virgin, we have all 3 systems for TV.
Sky doesn't give a programme guide for its radio channels on TV, Virgin does.
To make your decision, go to both Sky's website, and Virgins,
and see what they offer.
Only you can make the decision.

Hi there

Having worked for NTL I would have to say sky. Especially now they are doing phone, TV and broadband for 26 quid. I think Virgin Media has a long way to go before it establishes itself as a serious competitor to sky. Trust me i don't like the Big fat cat companies but at present sky has the best packages and the best deals.

I'm a big fan of Mr Branson and would recommend his airlines any day of the week he just needs to turn NTL around which in time I'm sure he will.

Oh and NTL's customer service is crap and i should know ;)

Regards

You should stick with Virgin Media, they are actually cheaper. They are hiding the £11 charge for phone on the 3 for £26 deal so in effect its £37!

Yeah I understand that you no longer have Sky One and all that but Virgin Media are working hard to get them back. Trust them. Sky is being a monopoly and sees Virgin Media a threat, double the price for the basic Sky channels and making Virgin Media cut their channels by 83%! That's harsh!

Virgin Media has faster internet and it is so much more reliable due to it's cable interface! If you can have cable, you should.. No ugly satellite dish. Their customer service is improving since it re-branded aswell.

I myself would stick with Virgin Media, Sky want you to switch and thats why they have done this, to make VM look stupid. Don't let the monopoly win, Virgin Media is doing it's best to get the channels back. If Sky don't with 30 days, VM is taking legal action. Use my sources to look for yourself. =]

I'd stick with Virgin Media. The internet service with Sky probably won't be as good eg subject to fair usage policies and all that, plus you'd have to have a BT line.
I don't miss the Sky channels all that much since Virgin had to drop them. All the On Demand stuff is currently free (except movies) which more than makes up for it.
Plus if I want to see new Simpsons I'll download it thanks to my unlimited Virgin broadband connection.

Definitely! Sky is so much better, and you're sure that the channels aren't suddenly going to be missing one day!!

We've never had any problems with Sky, except of course when we had snow in the dish, but we can't blame Sky for that .......

Go for it

I'm staying with Virgin. I reckon Branson will come up with something,he's a very astute business man,and someone has to make a stand against blackmailing murdoch

economically you should change but morally you should stay with virgin media

show sky that they haven't got the monopoly on t.v

plus the fact you've got to have an ugly sky dish on your house
