It's muscular, not skeletal. I already iced it. I can barely bend. I don't have any muscle relaxers. Would drinking rum help? Oh, man, I don't have anything to use as a mixer. I am home alone. Should I alternate heat with cold?
Mostly I'm asking if the rum would help loosen my back up.

i just had the same thing happen 2 me last week and a really hot bath or shower always helped loosen up the muscles, also if you have ibuprofen that helps to. the cold treatments really did not work 4 me but everyone is different so maybe try alternating heat and cold. i really hope this helps. i feel your pain and man it hurts.and no i don't think alcohol would help with this particular problem.

6 inch tensor bandage wrapped around to help support column.Keep quiet movements for a few days .Do not take extended rest.Be mindful of how you move and how you use your back.Use proper lifting technique, knees bent, shoulder width apart.Alcohol will impair judgement and deaden pain response which are both vital if you want to have a good recovery.Laying yourself up will cause a muscle imbalance that ensures a chronic condition. How do I know? I was given bad advice by an M.D. and had to learn what works the hard way.

You have my sympathy, I have just gone back to work after 8 weeks off work with a fractured spine.
Rum will definitely act as an anesthetic, but I wouldn't recommend drinking too much.
Just try to make yourself comfortable, keep altering your position to stop yourself seizing up.
Hope you don't suffer for too long.
