I bought my mum Roses and a crystal vase to put them in and a card, then, with my Brother we went out to a local hotel for a fabulous lunch and we were joined by my daughter and her partner and his parents. When I finally got home I spent some time putting all the flowers my three daughters had given to me into vases, reading their cards and trying out the perfume I also received. It has been a really nice day except for the bitterly cold wind, hail and sleet we had here.

Mother's Day in the US is in May, but it sounds like we all celebrate that special day the same way. Cards, flowers, and dinner for mom (cooked by the kids or in a restaurant).

I got my mother's day gifts off my two year old this morning (when my husband finally got out of bed after i got up with her at 5am cos she's ill!) then went to my mother in laws house and we got her a teddy and a wine glass both with best mum on then it was off to my mum's where we gave her the smelly stuff she'd been banging on about all week and a mum oven glove she wanted. then we had take out for dinner and loaded the dishwasher so she didn't have to before we left!

I usually feel terrible regret, sometimes get into a deep depression, other times I cry. I had not been a dutiful, understanding or caring daughter when she was alive; only realized my mistakes after she's gone.

I had her favourite flowers delivered, bought her a domino's pizza (her favourite!!) and we went down the beach and sat in the car and ate it. Nice and simple, but she enjoyed it :)
