I have a PSP and a DS lite, and I reckon my PSP beats the DS lite hands down. Why? Because the PSP Plays Videos (with a 3.5" widescreen!), Music, you can view photos, surf the web and play Games that have great graphics for a handheld. The DS has none of the above, (apart from Surfing the Net, which you would have to buy a seperate item in order to do so). You can also Play homebrew games and downloaded games on the PSP (saving you £!). My DS lite is collecting dust on my shelf, wheras my PSP is being used everyday for music, videos and Photos on the go. You will also be able to use a feature known as "Remote Play" on the PSP, which basically means that if you have a PS3, you will be able to play your Fav PS1 titles, videos and music that are on your PS3 Hard Drive, Wirelessly! You will even be able to use Remote Play at any Wireless Hotspot in the world!!!

Without a doubt!! Go and buy one!! You can do so much with it. All the bad points from before can easily be sorted and more added threw homebrewing your system. If you want to play games you can. If you want a good Mp3 player, you have, If you want to watch films on the move, you can! Burn all your fav films, music, photos etc.. on to a mermory stick. People are paying £100s of pounds for good media devices. Look no further! PSP!

I have one, there aren't that many great games, but there are a few. A lot of people might say go with the DS, but I like the psp more. Not really a down side either; Watch movies, view photos, internet, music. Can't go wrong with that, just don't drop it, I guess thats all.
In addition it does play AVI, but mostly MP4, for videos, and WMA, but mostly MP3, for music (have to have the net though). Also the psp2 won't be out for quite a while, could wait for that if you wanted.

Go things is that you can go online and play music, videos and view pics with it, but the bad points is that there isn't a lot games for it and the games isn't really good. Online there's certain things you can't view like videos from Youtube.com.

good points: play music, videos, photos/pictures, internet and games. good looking and there are a good selection of games and movis. you can link it up to your pc and get things of there.
bad points: only plays mp3 format. hard to get it on to the internet, battery life is poor, and the UMD (universal media disk) break easy and don'd last long
you decide!!

If you want 1 yes of course you should.
Else you'd have to steal one or rely on being given on as a gift.
