that were based on lies and corruption? When will the GOP be pro-America and stop being pro-Bush and pro-failure?

Garrett, the escalation isn't working. More soldiers are dying every week despite the escalation. 7 died just yesterday in fighting. Even the pentagon and generals in the field said it's way to early to tell if it's going to work or not. That was quoted in a Yahoo news article yesterday. Look it up.

As the polling data change so does Republican opinion. Now that the American people recognize the invasion of Iraq for the illegal, immoral, and stupid doomed-to-failure plan it was (and is), Republican candidates are getting as far away from Bush as possible.

Let me get this right, you are saying that it is Clinton's fault that things were good during his term AND bad during Bush's, and, therefore, Bush is not responsible for the present.

But, if as you neocons claim, Iraq really is going well, would not that be because of Clinton also?

Hey cyclops ,

It was a democratic President that had to drag the republicans (kicking and screaming isolationism) into WWII.

They are? Then how do you explain Osama Bin-laden's video appearance just prior to the 2004 Presidential election that helped secure Bush's re-election?

Under Bush, Al-Qaeda is larger, stronger, and more popular than ever before (probably more than even OBL dreamed possible). So, who is Al-Qaeda's friend?

Bush is not a warrior, he has no combat experience, he only knows what he is told. He is given answers from all angles and has to come up with the best solution with the help of his cabinet. Obviously, they have made mistakes. We are not in an endless war, the end will come once enough Iraqi troops are trained well enough to protect Iraq from just anyone with an organized group of thugs. I do agree it is not America's job to clean up every hell hole in the world, but it is too late for Iraq. We started it and must finish it. We have too much interest in oil too let it go now. So, if it's not "Bush's failed policies" it will be "Obama's failed policies' or worse "Clinton's failed policies" that keep us there. Or we can leave, all buy bicycles and pedal our asses off. Maybe then America won't be the fattest country in the world.

They are still holding their breath hoping desperately that Bush's current "plan" works. They are encouraged by some reports that say his plan is working in some areas. What they ignore and hope will go away is that those in charge have also reported the insurgents have pulled back from these areas where the troops are staying put for the purposes of regrouping and planning future large scale attacks on the small groups of soldiers stationed in these areas. I hope they are wrong about this myself, but I can't ignore the whole picture and just focus on one part of it. They seem to be able to do that without conscience.

It is a sad state of affairs that we are in right now. Our country is divided down party lines when we should all be together to support our troops. As long as there is money involved, ALL politicians will do whatever is best for themselves.
Oh yeah. President Franklin D. Roosevelt was a Democrat.

Well, If you were President, would you be the ONLY ONE who didn't make any mistakes ? Or would you be like our previous President who did nothing to stop Terrorism, but did alot of politicking with Monica ! It is so easy to condemn someone who holds our highest office. I believe it's not Bush at all, but his Faith that irritates Liberals. After all, they are Educated to the point they believe we Evolved from 'slugs from the Bacteria in the Ocean '. If that were so, why haven't almost all species of primates and Animals are basically the same as they were 1000's of years ago ?? God Bless America !!

When the people start putting pressure on the politicians with their letters & their votes.
"There is no better way to support those who are fighting in Iraq than to guarantee that no more of them die in the service of political miscalculation"
Source(s):
Anna Quindlen, Newsweek 2/19/07

Edit: Evidently, the GOP only supports the troops with lip service.

God Bless You!!

EDIT: It was the GOP that sent them to Iraq without the proper gear.

It was the GOP that started a war based on LIES!!

It is the GOP who has not gone after the #1 terrorist-ObL!!

It is the GOP who doesn't have a clue as to who we are fighting, or what a "win" might entail.

It is the GOP who thinks that a hash mark in the "win" column is all that "war" is about!

You go, girl. You sound very mature to me!

I love the question. Turn the table on those unpatriotic turds. They want us to lose. They want the terrorists to win. They are obviously fueling the fire and with all the talk of more troops can only possibly bring the troops moral down when they know the war is over and we won along time ago.

That's the most compelling question of the new millennium. Considering Bush's stubbornness and unwillingness to compromise his stance, I'd say that we're pretty much screwed until the next president takes over. Few GOP members have the backbone to oppose Bush.

Bring the soldiers home and provide for the amputees and disabled. This is the obvious answer.
