I want to know what has worked so that I can help my baby turn. I'm 22 weeks pregnant.

Your baby will turn on his own when it is time. At 22 weeks he or she still has plenty of room to move around and may flip a few more times before its time to deliver. About a quarter of babies are breech in the 7th month but about 97% turn head down in time for delivery.

At about 32 weeks your doctor may be able to feel the baby's position and instruct you further.

Don't worry- enjoy your pregnancy! Congratulations!

My second was breech and he never did turn, if the baby doesn't want to, he won't. Now that being said you are 22 weeks, still plenty of time for him to turn around. I am pregnant with twins right now, 23 weeks and one is breech, they keep telling me, she can still turn, and that is with twon babies taking up the space. Your doctor will try to turn him a little later on. Not now since the baby can still do it on his own. I was told to go into a swimming pool a lot. The floating somehow helps the baby turn. It obviously didn't work for me, but hey that is what the nurse told me. She also told me to lay on an incline with my head down for a few minutes at a time, again didn't work and I didnt' do it for long, being it made me very dizzy, lol. I would suggest trying the bobbing in the swimming pool thing, other than that let your doctor try to turn the baby. Heads up though, it hurts like the dickens. Just be prepared. Good luck.

It is perfectly normal for your child to be head-up at this stage of pregnancy, and most babies turn on their own during the last weeks, some even after labor has started. If your baby is breech as you near your due date and you normally favor one side when you sleep, try sleeping on your other side. Also, an old remedy used for 'stubborn' babies is to lay on a wide board that is 12-18 inches higher at your feet than your head, several times a day for a few minutes each time.
Hopefully you haven't been told by your doctor that you will need a C-section, as you're just not far enough along to be concerned with such a thing. One of my own babies turned on his own while i was washing dishes, just days before he was born. Don't worry.

Im sorry to tell you this, but most of the time it is up to the baby. The majority of babies will turn on their own and your are only 22 weeks pregant. It is normal for the baby to be "standing upright" at this stage in the game. Babies really dont go into position until the last trimester. My daughter was breach all through preganancy and became one of the few babies who preferred being upside down making it essential for me to have a c-section. Dont worry. If the baby turns, yeah! If the baby doesnt turn- Yeah too! Either way you are going to deliver the baby

youre not very far along to be worrying about turning your baby hun. however, if you get to 38 weeks and your baby is still not in position, get on your hands and knees, pelvis as high in the air as you can, and lower your head and chest to the bed with your thighs spread. stay that way for a half hour to an hour at a time, a few times a day. lot of times turning baby upside down helps them disengage from the pelvis so they can turn. whatever you do, do not try external torsion yourself. (using your hands on the outside to try and turn the baby.) this is a nearly lost art, almost exclusively practiced by old midwives, and can be very dangerous if you dont know what youre doing. good luck, and dont worry, youre only a little over halfway, its way too early to worry about babys position.

When i went to childbirth classes with my first pregnancy, they said that kneeling on all fours helps your baby turn because it gives them more room to manoevure. But even if you manage to turn your baby, chances are he/she will turn again a hundred times before delivery. I'm 28 weeks pregnant and my baby is still turning head up, then head down all the time.

unless you are going to have to have the baby early you wont need to turn him/her yet. he still has plenty of time and room if you are only 22weeks. im 39weeks and he is still trying to decide what position he wants to be in. When the time does come if he isnt in the head down position when you need to deliver, the doctors and nurses will try to manually turn him by pressing on your tummy. You can also try holding an ice pack with either a towel or t-shirt between it and your skin on the top part of your belly where his/her head is. when they feel that, they want to turn from it. Dont know how often that one works, but i have heard that its been done. also laying stretched out and pushing on him slightly can get him/her to move and gives him/her the room to move.

Both of my babies were breech until much closer to delivery time. They both turned on their own. I don't think there is anything you can do to correct it. Just relax and let nature handle things...if that doesn't work, your doctor will have the answers.

Generally, your baby will turn on its own. My daughter was breech for much of my pregnancy, but when it came time, she was in the right position.

When my son was born he was breech. My wife went two weeks past her due date waiting on him to turn but he never did. The doctor told us we couldnt leave him in there forever. So the doc preformed a c-section on my wife. My wife was upset since she didnt go though the natural process but was relived that we had healthy baby boy.
