from my perspective, the stepmom WAS Mary Shaw. She killed the father, opened him up and made him a dummy. And at the end where Jamie screams, his tongue is snatched out ending the line of all Ashens.

i wanna know more info too, but overall the movie was kinda boring. I thought the grudge was scarier than this. If only the dolls actually killed people..
