Shilpa Shetty is just one of many Indian Actresses. The fact she is having so much exposure over here is purely because she went on Celebrity Big Brother and suffered ("alleged") racial abuse.
If not for Jade and her mates Shilpa Shetty would be forgotten in UK by now.
So in answer to your question, no. I do not think she is any more of a diamond than anybody else in India.

Im sure there are people in India who are more credible than Shilpa Shetty...i mean shes just an actress...its like sayin is Julia Roberts the diamond of America or Kate Winslet the diamond of England...bit of an exageration isn't it?

I know since she stared with a school mate of mine kajol in bazze ghar a hindi movie she was good in it.
she is not spot on but this big brother show has sure sent her scaling up the list in a click
she is a nice person personly,she is not arrogen or snobish.
she is a diamond in the way you would speak of a good person,not as a star.
sorry keep the rasest stuff out of this cause she is not small to take it up big,the press and media made it big.

well said hazzad,, and her family seem to have a bad reputaution back in india for under paying their workers and using the bad boys to sort out their dirty dealings. a bit of a rough diamond if you ask me
