I have tried to find reviews for the Lexar Sport 2GB but have not come across any more than six. Of the six, two have stated that the 2GB Lexar Sport is a lot slower than the 1GB model, that Lexar did not make improvements to the speed to make up for the increase in size. Does anyone happen to know if this is true??

If my options were an exterior hardpersistent vs numerous USB flash drives i'd flow externalpersistent, more advantageous room, no swapping numerous USB flash drives so saves time as well. the more advantageous powerful selection is to move information over the community or use a crossover community cable. much more cost-effective, a 100GB exterior HD should be about $one hundred, a 2GB Flashpersistent should be about $10, a crossover cable should be about $5 shifting over the community should be executed in a million step somewhat than 2.

Think of it this way, if you have a walk in closet does it take longer to find those pants you sometimes wear then if you had a very small closet. It's the same with flash drives, the more space it has to store stuff in the more space it has to look through to find anything, and that is going to slow it down.

I still prefer walk in closets though.

It is true, however, it being primarily a "storage" device that should not be an issue.

Think of it this way .... an 500GB hard drive is no faster than most 80GB hard drives just because it has larger capacity.
Why must it be different for a USB drive ?

Yes ... faster is aways better. I suggest you buy one somewhere like Best Buy where they have a good return policy.
Judge it for yourself & return it if it doesn't satisfy your needs.
