No, in my opinion there is a valid reason for his exclusion. Firstly, like it of not Freddie Flintoff as the Vice Captain of the English cricket team is a role model to all the young people interested in the game, by letting him play his behaviour would seem to them as acceptable.

However, another reason, there was an important match against Canada coming up, by becoming as drunk as he did he jeopardised his well being, and also could have had detrimental affects on the teams result.

I feel that he has badly let his fans and his country down, (if the reports are true). This type of drunkeness in the middle of the world cup is bound to affect the performance of the team adversely. There is a time for this, to celebrate a victory would be ok. But this is definitely wrong.

They were correct. You cannot win the cricket world cup without discipline. You need to be alert and fit and drinking would not help you achieve this.

The cricketers need to be focused. They can have they fun in the sun after.

After all this - I am backing the Windies to win.

I'm afraid i don't think they have.
i like the bloke but if you're playing representing your country then you have to follow the rules and regulations.
also, how the hell did he think he was going to play with a stinking hangover?

Freddy, you're a silly boy, there are hundreds of guys who would love to be in your position and they would do as they were told!

I don't think so. In any other sport, while representing your country at a world cup/championship drinking to excess wouldn't even enter peoples thinking and i don't see why cricket should be any exception.

No I do not think that they have over-reacted to sacking him as vice captain.

He is meant to be a leader to the younger players & to go on the piss straight after a defeat will only encourage the youngsters to maybe follow in his footsteps.
