Sorry, I know this is an awkward subject, and I don't mean to offend homosexual people... I've just always kind of wondered if this could be true.. I imagine if I had a female anatomy I would probably have considerable interest in my reflection..

Redcatt, I'm sorry to have offended you. I don't think that homosexual people are necessarily attracted to -everyone- in their gender.. I suppose I'm going by my own feelings as a straight guy towards women; I don't find every woman attactive, but seeing them might be different. I mean to address our very basic and instinctive side..

Well, think about it. If you had to look at and live with your body, 24/7/365, knowing all the wierd and sometimes gross things it does, would you be attracted to it? Not me.

I think your question is quite interesting and though I am straight, I believe I can add my two cents. I can be aroused by my own body from time to time. There are times when I am feeling particularly good about myself and I am looking in the mirror after a workout or after losing a few pounds, or just getting ready to wear my favorite dress and I think to myself "dang, I am one hot mama" and that thought may arouse me. Oh for some reason when I shave my legs I am aroused by the smoothness. So I think to some extent it is perfectly natural for people to get that way looking at themselves no matter what your sexual orientation. I would only worry if you become to consumed with the thought of how great you look to the exclusion of other things, but even then there's always counseling.

Yes, and it is possible for a non-homosexual to be aroused by the sight of their own body, too. It is one type of narcissism. As long as it does not turn into an obsession, it is normal.
Many people like to have mirrors or video cameras involved in their intimate moments.
It is less common, but some men do not like most porn because it depicts another man; it can be a turn off or a territorial thing. By contrast often these men do not mind seeing themselves in porn because it it them.
To each their own.

I don't get aroused at the sight of my body. I do try and take care of myself with a good diet and gym, sports and stuff like that. However, there is one funny thing about guys...gay and straight. We have this method of masturbating in the bathroom ...looking into the mirror. I have no idea why we do it.

That's reasonable since you are a man that is attracted to female body's, so if you had a female body...duh.
I think anyone can be attracted to their own body. The sad thing is, too many people feel the opposite way.

Yes, it's possible.
That would be a form of narcissism & there's nothing I know of which restricts that to heterosexuals. The person in question would be a homosexual narcissist.

not me, nor any other gay or lesbian person I know. It IS a bit offensive, actually. just because one is attracted to their own gender, doesn't mean they are attracted to everyone of their own gender, especially their own self! straight people aren't attracted to everyone of the opposite sex, so why do so many people make this absurd assumption? why some people believe every stereotype they've ever heard?
you refer to people who are stuck-up/conceited or narcissistic. most people I've known like that have been straight!

Well, I stare at myself in the mirror naked all the time, so lots of other people, homosexuals included, probably do the same.
