I don't want any 2 paragraph answers, I just want to know with a yes or a no, and don't just put "i guess" or " its possable i supose" I want my answer short sweet, and to the point! :-)

No, 911 centers currently do not have this capability. But it is in the works.

If you can't talk based on your situation when calling 911, stay on the phone and do what the 911 call taker asks you to do.

Yes, technically, you can text message 911 in most areas -- but usually not with a cell phone. Think about it. There are a lot of deaf people out there who can't use "normal" telephones, so most 911 centers have TTY/TTD systems installed for that purpose.

There are some 911 centers that do accept cellphone text messages. The reasoning behind this (as far as I know) is that if a person is kidnapped or being held hostage, it's safer to attempt to send a text message than to actually make a verbal phone call. So if you're in that situation, it might be worthwhile to try a txt message to 911 -- but you might be better off sending it to a friend or family member and have *them* call 911 for you.

Sorry for the long answer, but there's no simple "yes or no" answer -- 911 call centers aren't that standardized.

no cuz i dont think there is a phone that allows u to txt a 3 number, number.

it usally says that the number has to be longer than 4 digits.

No- they answer the call on regular phones- no way to display the tm.

lol....why would you want to txt 911? if its an emergency why would you txt them? that has to be one of the stupidest questions ive seen.
