I'm 6 months pregnant. I look at pictures of fetuses at 6 months pregnant and they look so big and developed. I know my baby is developed, but my stomach is still not that big and it's hard to imagine the my baby inside of me looking the same size. He feels small and he kicks a lot, but they are "hard" kicks like I would imagine. I mean, sometimes they are hard kicks and you can see my stomach moving, but I just can't imagine a 12 inch, 1 pound fetus in my body right now. My tummy just doesn't seem big enough at this stage to have a baby that big inside. Am I just not able to imagine it because I can't see him?

it's cause my stomach still isn't that big. the baby is measuring perfectly...so it's nothing to do with that, it's just hard for me to imagine he is so big...and that he fits in my tummy and has room to kick like he does

Wait until the baby is born and you take a good look at the size! Then you'll look down at your belly, and wonder how on earth both baby *and* placenta, *and* all of that fluid, etc. ever fit inside you!

I think almost everyone finds it hard to picture the baby, at whatever size and stage, growing inside of them during their first pregnancy. Also, remember-- your baby may be somewhere around 12 in. long from top to toe, *but* is not necessarily stretched out to that length. The limbs are not loose and "dangling", they are rather stiff and rigid and folded up in the fetal position. They are even still pretty rigid when they are born! It takes a while for the muscle tone to develop enough to allow free movement and that soft, squishy, cuddliness that we associate with 3-4 month old babies.

So, that "12 in." little bean in there is really probably curled up into more like a 7 or 8 in. bundle. ;)

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and best of luck with everything!

My son has some products made by ability of Carters that are in basic terms a three month or in basic terms a 6 month length. With my son, i've got discovered that 3 month sizes have been like an inbetween length and acceptable for while he became too tall for the 0-3 month length yet too small for the three-6 month length. additionally, the sleeves are a sprint shorter than a three-6 month length, so which you do no longer would desire to roll them up. I provided a link for Carters length chart to furnish you a concept of the weights and lengths for each length.

It's a miracle !! The baby is growing in there like crazy it is so hard to imagine I'm huge ''or feel that way anyway'' I'm 25 weeks pregnant and I 'm familiar with that photo as it is in a book on how the baby grows I've been reading I'm content with the size of my baby and know it's true the kicks are so cool huh!!

I remember feeling the same way with my first pregnancy. I didn't show until I was a good 6 months along. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you are concerned, your doctor can do measurments from the ultrasounds and tell you the approximate size and weight of your baby. Maybe that would make you feel a bit better!

Generally, first pregnancies don't show majorly until later along. I had a hard time imagining that baby inside me, but I could definitely feel her moving around in there! She was exactly 7 pounds when she came out- I was actually surprised at how small she was.

part of it could be that the baby is curled up or in the "fetal position" I'm small 5'4 and about 100lbs before i was pregnant...but it still took til about 5 1/2 months for me to even show...I had a very healthy but small baby girl she was 4lbs 12oz and 19 inches long...and that was at 37 weeks...so most of the books are really just guidelines...just like people babies are all going to grow at different rates

I was already big by that time, so it was hard for me to realize how small the baby still was. I felt like she was 5 pounds already! But its different for all. I was just the opposite of how you feel.

It could be that you are just a very fit and healthy person. If the baby is fine don't worry. We are all different sizes that is what makes us who we are. Good luck and hope you have a wonderful time with the little one.

Take your body shape into account. We're all shaped differently and every pregnancy is different. Just be happy people aren't asking you when you're ready to have that kid!!

The baby is curled up, not stretched out.
